Annmarie: I'm Annmarie, the force behind Enhanced Building Solutions, a beacon of innovation in the building industry through our training video solutions for mechanical equipment. My journey from a stable corporate job in NYC to entrepreneurship was not just a career change but a calling. Born from a mixture of necessity and passion, influenced by my Caribbean roots, this path reflects a commitment to sustainability, efficiency, and creativity. My upbringing emphasized hands-on learning, improvising, and speaking my mind—a trait celebrated among Trini’s and deeply embedded in my personal and professional ethos. This honesty and problem-solving mindset resonate with my clients, distinguishing our approach to 'repair versus replace,' a philosophy nurtured by my Caribbean heritage of making the most out of every situation. It's this blend of engineering ingenuity and cultural resilience that defines my brand and drives its success.

CBN: Thanks for that intro. How did you find your purpose?
Annmarie: My belief in reincarnation shapes my understanding of purpose; I view my current path as part of a greater calling. The journey to where I stand today has been one of self-discovery, fueled by the gaps I've identified in the building industry and the influence of my father's legacy. However, I see this as just the beginning. My unique background—East Indian ancestry, African and British influences, underpinned by an American upbringing—equips me with a rich tapestry of cultural diversity and strong family values. This diversity sparks innovation and drives me to make a positive impact on the community and the environment. My mission transcends professional achievements; it's about honoring my heritage and contributing to a better world for future generations.

CBN: When being the only one with a seat at the table: how have you learned to be effective/successful even when you are the only one in the room that looks like you?
Annmarie: Navigating spaces where I'm uniquely different has been a profound lesson in character and strategy. My grandmother's wisdom—that one's reputation is their most invaluable asset—has guided me to approach every task with excellence, whether big or small. As the first American-born in my family, I bear the torch for those who came before me, channeling the strength and spirit of my ancestors. This heritage, combined with the melting pot that is NYC, has honed my skills in communication and inclusivity. Embracing my diverse Caribbean background, I strive to bring authenticity and comprehensive insights to the table, fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity in the industry.
CBN: Upon some reflection, what were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey?
Annmarie: Throughout my bold journey, innovation, resilience, and a strong sense of community have been my pillars. The courage to innovate came from a vision to transcend traditional training methods, making learning both efficient and accessible. My Caribbean heritage instilled resilience in me, enabling the leap from a secure corporate environment to the uncertainties of entrepreneurship. Community, a value deeply rooted in my culture, has been fundamental in fostering shared learning and elevating industry standards. Early skeptics doubted the scalability of my business model, but focusing on niche needs and thinking of the end-users fueled my drive, turning challenges into opportunities for innovation.
