what we do

We are a business development platform designed to support micro, small and medium business owners and dedicated to fostering economic opportunity and strengthening small Caribbean businesses in North America and beyond. Entrenched in the heart of NYC, CBN emerged as an initiative to support the many entrepreneurs in the city. Today, we serve a diverse group of businesses providing tools and opportunities to help small businesses reach their full potential.

OUR MISSION

CBN’s mission is to connect, support, amplify Black & Caribbean entrepreneurs to make them more impactful and successful brands. By providing access to the resources and capacity building, we help businesses move through key milestones as they strive to reach their full potential.

MEET OUR FOUNDER

Dr. Nicole K. Grimes 

Nicole Grimes is an award-winning author, educator, consultant and Founder of Carib Biz Network in 2019. Her 20+ year career in education and her love of Caribbean culture served as the seedbed to start CBN - a community dedicated to amplifying Caribbean talent and entrepreneurs.

Grimes is an alumna of The Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY) where she received a Ph.D. in Urban Education. She is a former NYC high school principal, university adjunct Assistant professor and STEM educator. She earned an M.A. in Secondary Science Education from Teachers College, Columbia University & a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University.
