1.REYNA NORIEGA (Heritage: Cuba, Bahamas)

Reyna Noriega is a 29 year old Afro-Caribbean Latina Visual Artist and Author. She was born, raised and is based in Miami, FL. In her creative work, she centers women of color and aims to fill the world with vibrant, joyful depictions of marginalized peoples. Her work has graced covers such as Science Magazine and The New Yorker and thousands of people collect and showcase her art in their homes around the world.

2. MIKE NICHOLAS (Heritage: St. Lucia)

Mike Nicholas is a resident of Brooklyn and a son of St. Lucia. He is an experienced designer with a long history of working in the retail fashion industry. He first owned a store to sell his designs called Brooklyn Sky which closed in 2014. His second brand Does It Even Matter showcases his range as a graphic designer whose style lends itself to Afro-positive imagery and messaging. In 2020, Mike opened Aunts et Uncles with his wife Nicole - a premier vegan lifestyle shop in the heart of Brooklyn where they also sell Mike’s designs.

3. TANYA MARIE (Heritage: Trinidad & Tobago)

Tanya Marie is a Designer and Creative Director based in Trinidad and Tobago with over 15yrs experience designing the way Caribbean brands visualise who they are and what they’re about. She has been the lead designer behind brands like Secret Bay, Fort Young Hotels in Dominica, the Blue Waters Hotel in Tobago, the Starlite Flagship store in Maraval, Trinidad, and the ā€˜Pure Grenada’ rebranding in 2014.

In 2011 Tanya Marie created Designer Island . There she manages a diverse group of designers, writers, photographers and other artists throughout the Caribbean, reimagining and creating future Caribbean.

Nicholas Huggins is an Artist and Creative Director from Trinidad & Tobago. He is the founder of Backyard Design Co., a full service, award winning creative agency.

Keegan Simon is an Entrepreneur, Artist and Owner of The 1ndividual Aesthetic. 13. MELANIE ARCHER (Heritage: Trinidad & Tobago)

Melanie Archer is an award-winning book designer and partner/editor at Robert & Christopher Publishers. Melanie also writes on art, design, and culture and her articles have appeared in PRINT magazine, The Caribbean Review of Books, Caribbean Beat, Small Axe online, and ARC Magazine, among others.

She has been director of engagement at Unqueue (2020–2024), a part-time lecturer at UWI St Augustine (2019–2022), art director of the trinidad+tobago film festival (2010–2015) and co-curator of its New Media programme of experimental works (2012-2015; 2021–2023). Melanie’s other curatorial experience includes the exhibitions ā€œPublic Spacesā€ (2012, Port of Spain, based on the work of architect Colin Laird) and ā€œPictures from Paradiseā€ (2014, Toronto, a survey of contemporary Caribbean photography).
